Understanding Sak Yant

What is Sak Yant?

Sak Yant is an invitation to the Triple Gem—the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha—into us. It is a sacred practice that connects the wearer with divine protection and spiritual power.

1

Buddha on the Head

The Buddha being the highest above all, resides in and on our head—the seat of wisdom and enlightenment.

2

Parents on the Shoulders

Inviting our parents to the left and right of our shoulders, for there is no blessing greater than that of our parents.

3

Teachers in the Heart

The invitation of teachers who performed the ceremony resides in the middle of the heart—guiding us to success in all endeavors.

4

Yantras Covering the Body

The invitation of Yantras, characters, spells, and magic (Wicha) to cover the whole body—protecting from all harm and danger.

A Sacred Responsibility

After receiving a Sak Yant, you must remember to always pray, meditate, and dedicate merits to the teachers who have passed down this magical art. Remembering and paying homage to teachers and masters are the most important aspects of maintaining the power of your Sak Yant.

Important: This ancient art must be done correctly by a master who possesses true knowledge and wicha—not just anyone who can copy a picture. All Sak Yants must be activated by specific spells and wicha to provide their sacred benefits.
